Copyright is a legal constraint which gives artists excuslive rights to there work Generally, it is "the right to copy", but also gives the copyright holder the right to be credited for the work, to determine who may adapt the work to other forms, who may perform the work, who may financially benefit from it.

Goverment over the years have tried to pass bills which try to stop piracy the U.S govermant have tried to pass a variety of acts to stop piracy all together, acts such as (SOPA) which is called stop online piracy act, SOPA will intend to stop google and other online search engines to not be able to find websitse that the US goverment deems to be illegal or which will infringe on copyright law
