Regulatory Bodies- issues

What is a monopoly?
A monopoly is a board game but in seriousness that isnt what we are talking about we are talking about the excluvsive possession or control of the supply or trade in a commodity or service. In the UK there is no monopoly businesses, Outside of england for example in Italy TV is ran by the govermant

Why is it important to ensure that no one sigle media producer in the UK has a monopoly?
it is important to have a wide variety of media producers in the UK, if there was only one company who owned the whole of television the TV shows and news will be very biased towards this persons personal views, Along with having no competiors and variety in TV

Why is consumer choice important?
Consumer choice is very important with out choice life is very boring and bland the same products over and over again have a negative impact on the people who are buying the product or service and this the tv industry would start to fall apart from the ammount of viewers they are getting

What is censorship?
Censorship is a shield to protect anyone who is under of the age of 18 to see things they shouldnt be hearing or seeing before 9:00PM, Ofcom is in charging of tackling censorship if there is any televsion company that breaks the censorship law the will face ofcom and be fined a large sum of money
